There are 7 chakra points in the body, beginning with the base of the spine and going up to the crown of the head.  Energy is moved from one chakra to the next, clearing each until we reach a state of expanded consciousness, feeling as one, with the universe.

1^st Chakra the Root or Base Chakra is located at the base of the spine.  The 1^st chakra connects us with the earth that supports our existence, making us feel rooted in our own bodies and providing all that is needed for our survival.  Stones representing the 1^st Chakra should be red or black.

2^nd Chakra the Naval or Sacral Chakra is located right below the naval.  It is the point of integration of how we connect with one another emotionally and sexually, and the desires that drive us.  Stones representing the 2^nd Chakra should be orange.

3^rd Chakra the Solar Plexis sometimes called the power chakra, is located between the naval and the breastbone.  This is the site of basic animal drive, personal power, our place in the hierarchy of the world, creativity and self-expression.  Stones representing the 3^rd Chakra should be yellow.

4^th Chakra the Heart Chakra is located in the center of the chest.  This point moves our animal drives into higher feelings of love and compassion.  This is also the Chakra that balances us between the spiritual and physical realms.  Stones representing the 4^th Chakra should be pink or green.

5^th Chakra the Throat Chakra is located in the throat and allows us to express ourselves and communicate.  We experience ourselves as individuals but can connect with others.  Stones representing the 5^th Chakra should be blue.

6^th Chakra the Third Eye Chakra is located between the eyebrows.  This chakra helps us to discover our inner knowing, intuition, clairvoyance, eternal wisdom and truth.  This is the state of oneness where the identification with self begins to dissolve.  Stones associated with the 6^th Chakra should be indigo.

7^th Chakra the Crown Chakra is located at the top of the head.  This is the place of connection with the eternal consciousness, the divine, the universe.  This is the state of enlightenment where there is no self remaining.  Stones representing this Chakra should be white, gold or violet.
